Social Entrepreneurship Cultivator

What

We recognize that social entrepreneurship training – especially when provided in an accurate cultural and socioeconomic context – offers an opportunity to reverse unemployment conditions while strengthening the productive systems of a region. This is what the Social Entrepreneurship Cultivator program of Filantropis ONG, based in Chajul, Guatemala, seeks to do.

Why

We believe in the importance of investing in entrepreneurs while they create and improve their business model to provide solutions to social challenges. Filantropis ONG’s Social Entrepreneurship program is an innovative model for cultivating business ideas that integrates workshops, advice, mentoring and contact with investors. Business ideas in early stages are supported in some cases with seed capital and formally structured advanced businesses are linked with investors or financed by private funds from Filantropis.

Who

The Social Entrepreneurship Cultivator Program is operated by Filantropis ONG, a non-profit Guatemalan Civil Association that was founded in 2015 by local community members in conjunction with the Philanthropiece Foundation. Filantropis invests in the potential of youth, generating sustainable community change and opening opportunities. Specifically, the Cultivator program is supported by:

  • Encri Caba Galindo, Filantropis Cultiva Program Coordinator
  • Ernesto Perez Santiago, Philanthropiece Guatemala Program Director & Advisor to Filantropis ONG
  • Alterna
