Native Response to the Climate Crisis

November 7, 2019 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

Join us for the conversation on Native responses to the climate! As we brainstorm a solution for our current climate crisis, we cannot carry these conversations without mentioning local and indigenous rich understanding of ecological systems. Colonialism relies on the continued exploitation and invisibility of indigenous peoples. If we wish to move towards sustainability, we must unite with indigenous peoples here and globally. Understand our role, and see that colonialism relies on the erasure of indigenous people and history so settlers can appear as the “new natives” and owners of the land. We must reject this conditioned thought of “credible” knowledge, and appreciate local and indigenous knowledge systems as well. Come to our event to learn more!
