Kick off Latinx/Hispanic heritage month with the Latino Community Foundation of Colorado!
Philanthropiece will join the LCFC for the sixth annual Telling Our Story Forum by enriching the event with a poetry performance from Laura Soto, our Operations Manager. This family-friendly event is built by Latinos for Latinos and allies who want to grow our power locally, regionally and statewide. Civic engagement is for community members of all ages and is greatly needed during these times of negative rhetoric towards the immigrant community.
This year’s Forum, Visión 2020: Latinidad en Colorado will feature leadership stories from across Colorado, interactive sessions for connecting with others in the movement and presentation of the Soul of Leadership (SOL) Award to the San Luis Valley Immigrant Resource Center who work day in and day out to connect and empower immigrants. The LCFC will also welcome strategist David Ayón for the Forum’s keynote presentation, speaking to the national landscape and what we can do to expand our work!
The event is for the whole family. Lunch will be served and interpretation and childcare will be available for all attendees. Tickets are on sale now and they offer discounted pricing for youth, older adults, families, and large groups. Limited scholarships are available as well as travel assistance (gas cards, etc.) for individuals and organizations traveling to the event from across the state.
