Becoming American: An Immigration Film+Discussion Series

January 29, 2019 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

We’re fans of the new Museum of Boulder! And here’s one really, really good reason why: for the next 6 weeks, they are hosting a documentary film and discussion series to explore the history of immigration in the US. Sessions will be moderated by Dr. Nicholas Villanueva, a professor of Ethnic Studies at the University of Colorado, Boulder. This date is for the second film, “Promise and Prejudice.”

The topics for each week are:

Tuesday, January 22, 6-8pm | The Century of Immigration: 1820-1924
Tuesday, January 29, 6-8pm | Promise and Prejudice
Tuesday, February 5, 6-8pm | Between Two Worlds: Identity and Acculturation
Tuesday, February 12, 6-8pm | Help Wanted? Immigration and Work
Tuesday, February 19, 6-8pm | Family and Community
Tuesday, February 26, 6-8pm | Popular Culture and Immigration

All events are free and open to the public | Space is limited; please sign up for a free ticket to attend | To attend all 6 sessions, register for the Jan. 22 date (no need to sign up for all 6 dates).
